When a kitchen or bath gets gutted in Whittier or the surrounding LA and Orange County cities, Louie is the one who comes and takes the tear-out away. Call or text (562) 781-9101. This is the pile a kitchen or bathroom remodel leaves behind once the old room is torn out. Old cabinets, a countertop that came off in slabs, the vanity, the toilet, the tile and the drywall all land at once, right when the new stuff needs the floor. Louie loads it out so the project keeps moving.

Homeowners doing their own demo call for it, and so does whoever is running the remodel and wants the room clear before the new cabinets show up. A property manager redoing a bathroom between tenants calls for the same reason. Two things mark a remodel haul: its size and its mix. A remodel is usually one or two rooms of tear-out, with bulky fixtures and broken material in the same pile. It falls under Louie's wider debris removal service. Debris from a bigger build is a construction debris removal job.

Louie runs Cast Out himself, so the person who prices the torn-out vanity and the cabinet stack on the call is the person who carries them out. He takes remodel debris from kitchens and baths in every town around Whittier he drives to. He takes card, cash or Zelle for the one number he gives you on the whole job.

The full list of what goes on the truck, and what doesn't.

What comes out of a kitchen or bathroom tear-out

A remodel pile is a mix of two kinds of junk. Some of it is big and awkward, like a run of upper cabinets still screwed together or a vanity with the top on. The rest is broken material. Tile comes off the shower wall in chunks and drywall comes down in sheets and pieces. The countertop usually gets cut into slabs to get it out the door.

That mix is what sets a remodel apart from a garage or a basement full of stored stuff. It shows up in one weekend of demo, and it has a deadline, because the installer needs the room. Keeping it all in one spot, in a garage bay or along the side yard, makes the load go faster and keeps the new work area clear. If the old stove or fridge is coming out in the same remodel, it can ride along on the same load, same as any other appliance removal.

What a remodel haul-off costs

The minimum is $120. Above that, the whole tear-out gets a single price, based on the share of truck space the cabinets, slabs and broken drywall fill. A couple of toilets and a vanity take a small slice of it. A full kitchen of cabinets, counters and drywall takes a lot more. Once the pile is loaded, the number stays where it was.

Two add-ons can apply here. Upstairs is +$25, which comes up with a second-floor bathroom. If the room sits more than 50 feet from where the truck parks, the carry adds +$50. Both get mentioned on the call, before a single cabinet moves and never after the load is on, and Louie lists no others. Senior and military discounts are offered, so bring it up on the call. The quote is free. Call or text (562) 781-9101.

Where old cabinets, tile and drywall end up

Donation comes first. Cabinet boxes that came off the wall in one piece, or a vanity with nothing cracked, can go to a local donation center for someone else's project. Anything from the tear-out that can be recycled is, when possible. Broken tile, torn drywall and the rest of the real trash go to the landfill.

If you want the old cabinets to have that second life, take the doors and boxes down carefully during demo instead of prying them apart. Louie can't donate what came off in splinters. If you'd rather haul some of it yourself, here's where to dump junk in and around Whittier.

How Louie loads out a remodel

Leave the tear-out right where demo left it. Louie carries the debris out from where it sits, like the gutted bathroom at the end of the hall or the stack in the garage. He usually works solo, and when a big kitchen tear-out needs more hands, he brings a small crew.

Stairs are fine and carry the upstairs add-on. When a contractor or a property manager is running the remodel, Louie sets the hour window with whoever will be on site, so the room gets cleared between demo and the new install. He answers the phone himself and he's open 24/7. Tell him on the call where the pile is and how far it sits from where he can park.

When the demo runs over several days, there's another way to do it. Louie rents out the dump trailer he hauls with, and $650 gets it with up to 3 tons of dump weight included. Loads over 3 tons cost extra, and that amount isn't set yet, so ask him about it on the call.

What stays behind after the demo

A few things from a remodel don't go on the truck. Concrete and dirt stay, even when they came out of the same room. So do piles that need to be shoveled.

Hazardous materials are refused, and remodels tend to turn them up. Half-used paint cans, chemicals and fuel stay out of the load. Set the paint and solvent off to the side of the debris pile before he gets there. Old tile, flooring or drywall that may contain asbestos isn't something Louie hauls, so sort that out before the tear-out goes on the truck. Ask Louie on the call about any piece of the tear-out you're unsure of, and he'll say whether it can go.

How the price works

Call or text (562) 781-9101. Louie looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $120. The only add-ons: upstairs +$25, carry over 50 feet +$50. He tells you before he starts. More on how pricing works.

Where Louie does this

All of the surrounding LA and Orange County cities. A remodel in Downey leaves a pile, and the city asks that construction debris stay out of residential trash. Bellflower's bulky item pickup does not take construction and demolition debris, so remodel leftovers need another way out. In unincorporated areas like Hacienda Heights, the county's ordinance requires a set share of construction and demolition debris to be recycled or reused. Questions

Questions about remodeling debris removal.

How much does remodeling debris removal cost?
$120 is the minimum, and a bigger remodel pile gets one price for the lot, sized by how much of the truck it uses. If the bath is upstairs, that's +$25, and a carry over 50 feet is +$50, both said before loading and nothing else added. Call or text (562) 781-9101.
Do I have to move the old cabinets out to the driveway?
No. Louie carries the cabinets, the vanity and the rest out of the room they're in. A bathroom on the second floor adds the +$25 upstairs charge.
Will Louie take broken tile and drywall?
Yes, tile and drywall from a remodel can go. Piles that would need to be shoveled stay behind, so describe the pile when you call.
Can leftover paint and thinner from the remodel go too?
No. Paint, chemicals and fuel are hazardous materials, and Louie refuses them along with asbestos. Keep them separate from the debris so the rest of the pile can go.
How soon can Louie come get the pile?
In his own words, "24 hour turn around" is the usual timing. Same-day happens when the schedule allows but is never promised. Call when demo is wrapping up and he'll give an hour window so the room can be cleared before the new cabinets or tile go in.
