Appliance removal is how Louie Villareal clears dead fridges, washers and stoves out of homes in Whittier and the surrounding LA and Orange County cities. He prices the job and does the hauling himself. Call or text (562) 781-9101 to book. What makes an appliance pickup its own kind of job is weight sitting in a tight spot. One fridge can be the whole load, and it's often wedged into a kitchen nook or a laundry closet with a door frame barely wider than the unit. Getting it out clean is most of the work.

Maybe you just had a new fridge put in and the old one is still sitting in the garage. Or you manage a vacant unit with a dead stove inside and a new tenant on the way. A single washer or one chest freezer is worth a call on its own. Louie doesn't need a full trailer of junk to make the trip, and he'll quote the one piece the same way he'd quote a whole house.

Louie works from Whittier out to each LA and Orange County city he covers, Bellflower and Brea included. A fridge in a Downey garage or a washer in a Fullerton laundry room gets the same carry-out and the same pricing. Louie answers the phone and prices the job himself, so the quote comes straight from the guy doing the carrying. He's open 24/7 and books an hour window. In his own words, he runs a "24 hour turn around." Same-day pickups do happen, but they're never a promise.

What's usually in an appliance pickup

An appliance job is small in count and big in weight. It might be the fridge that got replaced last week or a washer and dryer pulled out during a laundry room remodel. Stoves, wall ovens and dishwashers come out of kitchen jobs too, and so does the second fridge that's been sitting on the patio for years.

Some calls are for one piece. Others are a full kitchen, every appliance out at once before new cabinets go in.

That weight is what makes it different. A fridge can't be broken down. It has to leave through the same doorways it was squeezed in through. So the first thing Louie looks at is the way out.

Where an old fridge or washer goes next

Donation comes first. If the washer still runs or the fridge still keeps cold and it's clean enough for someone else's kitchen, it goes to a local donation center when possible. A unit pulled out in a remodel that still works has a real shot at a second home.

When donation isn't an option, what can be recycled is recycled when possible. Whatever's left after that is real trash, and real trash goes to the landfill. Mention whether the appliance still works. It helps Louie know where it's headed before it's on the trailer.

The truck guide lays out where old appliances and the rest of a load end up, piece by piece.

How Louie gets a fridge out of a tight kitchen

The washer can stay right where it's plugged in until Louie shows up. He carries the appliance out from where it sits, from the laundry closet or the back wall of the garage. When a full-size fridge has to come down the stairs of a second-floor unit, he brings a small crew for the extra hands, though most appliance jobs he lifts alone. Everything rides out on a truck and a 6 x 12 x 4 hydraulic dump trailer. Stairs or a long walk to the street change how he carries it, so describe the path when you call.

On a rental, the manager can handle the whole thing by phone. Tell Louie the unit number and who's letting him in, then pick an hour window that works for the building. If the tenant left the stove and the fridge both, say so up front so the number covers both.

What hauling one appliance costs

The minimum is $120. Above that floor, the price is a single figure for the job, based on the truck space the appliances fill. A single stove takes less room than a washer, a dryer and a garage freezer together, so the number follows the load. Once everything's loaded, that number doesn't change.

Two add-ons can apply here. Upstairs is +$25. A carry over 50 feet is +$50. Louie names either one before the work starts and never adds one after. He lists no add-ons beyond those two, and the quote on a stove or a washer is free. Senior and military discounts are offered too, so ask about them.

The Whittier junk removal pricing guide shows how bigger loads are priced. Call or text (562) 781-9101 with what you've got and where it sits.

What stays behind when the freezer goes

Watch what sits on it or next to it, like paint cans stacked on top of an old chest freezer or a gas can parked beside the dryer in the garage. Those are hazardous materials. Louie won't take paint, chemicals, fuel or asbestos, so they stay put while the appliance goes on the trailer.

Point them out up front so they can be set aside before he starts loading. Clear off the top of the washer too, if it's holding bottles of cleaner. If you're not sure whether something counts, ask before the day of the pickup.

He also won't haul concrete or dirt, or any pile that needs to be shoveled. If an old stove has been sitting on a slab of broken concrete in the side yard, the stove leaves and the concrete stays.

How the price works

Call or text (562) 781-9101. Louie looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $120. The only add-ons: upstairs +$25, carry over 50 feet +$50. He tells you before he starts. More on how pricing works.

Questions

Questions about appliance removal.

How much does appliance removal cost?
$120 is the floor, and above it a fridge or washer is priced as one figure for the whole job by the truck space it fills. Upstairs adds +$25 and a carry over 50 feet adds +$50. Louie names either add-on before he starts.
Does the fridge have to be at the curb?
No. He'll walk the fridge out of the kitchen, the garage or the back patio himself. Just tell him where it is and how the path out looks.
Will Louie pick up just one appliance?
Yes. One washer or one stove is a job on its own. It's priced the same way as any load, starting at the $120 minimum.
Can Louie take the paint and gas cans in the garage too?
No. Paint, chemicals, fuel and asbestos are hazardous materials he won't take. He'll haul the appliance and leave those behind.
Can a property manager book the pickup for a vacant unit?
Yes. The manager can set the hour window and tell Louie what the tenant left. Call or text (562) 781-9101.
Does a working fridge get thrown out?
Not if it can be donated. Donation comes first, so a clean, working fridge goes to a local donation center when possible. Whatever can be recycled is recycled when possible, and only real trash goes to the landfill.
