Moving out of a place in Whittier or one of the nearby LA and Orange County cities and leaving a pile behind? Louie clears it so you can hand back the keys. Text (562) 781-9101 with your move date to line it up. You're moving, the boxes are gone, and whatever didn't make the cut is still sitting in the rooms. Louie hauls all of it away in one trip so you can hand back the keys. Usable items are donated. What makes a move-out different from his other cleanouts is the date. The place has to be empty by a set day, and the pile is everything you chose not to take.

Renters handing back an apartment call, and so do homeowners who sold and still have a garage full of stuff. When a tenant leaves things behind, that side of the work has its own page on rental property cleanout. Louie covers a long list of nearby towns, and the full list of cities he serves shows whether yours is on it.

On a move-out, you've already done the sorting. Everything that's going was decided when you packed, so the job moves fast once Louie is on site. If a few things are still up in the air, keep them in one room and tell him which room to skip. Big single pieces left behind, like the couch or an old mattress, ride along on the same trip and go into the same price.

  • Bed frames and dressers
  • Unopened boxes from last move
  • Patio set and grill
  • Fridge left in the garage
  • Desks and bookshelves
  • Old mattresses
  • Clothes and shoes left in the closet

The full list of what goes on the truck, and what doesn't.

What's usually left after the moving truck pulls away

A move-out pile is mostly stuff that worked fine but didn't fit the new place. The sectional that's too big for the new living room. The bed frame from the kids' room. A dresser with a sticky drawer, a desk, bookshelves, the patio set, the grill. Then the boxes nobody opened since the last move, and the half-full closet in the back bedroom. Sometimes it's the fridge in the garage or the washer the new place doesn't need.

It's also spread out, a few pieces in every room instead of one heap in one spot. Since it's leftover furniture and household goods, a lot of it is still usable. Point out every room, the garage and the side yard on the call so nothing gets missed. If part of the move went into a storage unit, mention that too. Louie does storage unit cleanouts as well.

What Louie leaves for you on a move-out

Move-outs turn up stuff people forget they own, and some of it can't go on the truck. Louie won't take hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, fuel or asbestos. That means the half cans of paint on the garage shelf and the cleaner under the sink. The gas can for the mower stays too.

He also won't take concrete or dirt, so the old planter soil and the leftover bags of concrete mix stay put. A pile that has to be shoveled up is out too, like loose debris spread across the back patio. Set those aside before he gets there and point them out on the call, so the rest of the job goes in one trip. If you're not sure about something in the garage, ask him when you call.

How Louie clears the place before key day

Nothing has to be dragged to the curb. Louie carries it out from where it sits, whether that's an upstairs bedroom, a back unit or the garage. A full house is planned on the call, since that's when Louie decides whether to bring a small crew or handle it alone as he usually does. A hot tub or an old shed out back that isn't coming with you can be part of the job too, since Louie removes both.

He gives an hour window, he's open 24/7, and in his own words he runs a 24 hour turn around. Same-day is sometimes possible, but don't count on it for key day. If you've already moved and a landlord, agent or manager is letting him in, pass along their name and number when you book so the time gets set with them. Tell him what's going and what's staying, and anything you want kept stays put.

Where your leftovers go after they leave

Since most of a move-out pile is usable, donation comes first. Couches, dressers, tables and kitchen stuff in good shape go to a local donation center. Clothes and shoes left in the closet go the same way when they're in good shape. What can't be donated gets recycled when possible. Real trash, like the broken chair or the torn mattress pad, goes to the landfill.

That order matters on a move-out, because people often hate leaving good things behind, and this way the good dresser ends up with someone who can use it. Old TVs and electronics count as part of the load too, so mention them on the call with everything else. If you'd rather drop a few things off yourself, the guide to dumping junk around Whittier shows where things go locally.

What a move-out cleanout costs

Louie quotes one number for the whole job, and it doesn't change once the truck is loaded. What you leave behind is priced by the trailer space it fills, never less than $120. A couple of leftover chairs and some boxes sit near the low end. A whole apartment of furniture takes more room and costs more.

Two add-ons can apply on a move-out. Upstairs is +$25. A carry over 50 feet is +$50. Either one is named before the work starts and never added after. He takes card, cash and Zelle, and senior and military discounts are offered. The junk removal pricing guide walks through how load size sets the number. Call or text (562) 781-9101 with a list of what's going and he'll give you the price.

How the price works

Call or text (562) 781-9101. Louie looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $120. The only add-ons: upstairs +$25, carry over 50 feet +$50. He tells you before he starts. More on how pricing works.

Questions

Questions about move-out cleanout.

How much does a move-out cleanout cost?
Even a couple of leftover pieces start at $120. A bigger move-out pile gets one figure based on the trailer space it takes. Leftovers in an upstairs unit add +$25, and a walk of more than 50 feet to the trailer adds +$50.
Do I have to move everything to the curb first?
No. Louie carries it out from where it sits, whether that's a back bedroom, an upstairs unit or the garage.
Can Louie come right before my lease ends?
He's open 24/7, gives an hour window and, in his own words, runs a 24 hour turn around. Call or text (562) 781-9101 as soon as you know your move date.
Will he take the leftover paint and cleaning products?
No. Paint, chemicals, fuel and asbestos are hazardous materials Louie won't take, so set them aside before he arrives.
Does usable furniture get donated?
Yes. The things you didn't pack that still work go to a local donation center first. Recyclable pieces are recycled when possible, and the real trash goes to the landfill.
Can a property manager book the job for a vacant unit?
Yes. A manager can call, set the time and let Louie in, and the same pricing applies.
