Once a build wraps up in Whittier or the surrounding LA and Orange County cities, Louie Villareal handles the new construction cleanout. It's the last haul after a build or an addition is finished, when the house is up and the boxes and scraps the trades left behind are still sitting inside. Call or text (562) 781-9101 for a price. What sets this job apart is where the pile sits. The floors are new and the paint is fresh, so the route out matters as much as the pile.

Homeowners call him when the contractor is gone and the garage is still stacked with cardboard. Builders and project managers call when a house has to look done for a final walkthrough or a buyer's first visit. Landlords finishing a new unit call before the first tenant gets the keys. Cast Out Hauling & Junk Removal is Louie's own outfit. The man who picks up your call and quotes the cleanout is the same one carrying cabinet boxes past the new paint.

If walls are still coming down, that's a different job, and construction debris removal is the page for it. This page is for the end of a project, when the building is done and the mess is mostly packaging and offcuts. Louie works out of Whittier and takes these jobs in Norwalk, La Habra, Fullerton and the rest of the towns he hauls from. The best time to call is once the last trade is off the site and the house is ready to be emptied.

What's left after the builders pack up

A new construction cleanout is mostly the stuff that came in wrapped around the materials. Cardboard from cabinets, doors and light fixtures. Plastic sheeting and foam corners. Scrap lumber and drywall cutoffs. Boxes of tile or flooring nobody opened. A couple of pallets the delivery driver left by the side gate.

Nothing is being torn out, and that's the difference from a remodel. The house is finished and somebody is about to live in it. The pile sits in a bedroom with new carpet or a garage with a fresh slab, and the route out runs past walls nobody wants dinged. That changes how the load gets carried more than what's in it. A lot of these leftovers are also clean and unused, which matters for where they end up.

How Louie clears a finished house

Nothing needs to be dragged out ahead of time, since Louie pulls each box and offcut from the room it's in. He usually works alone, and when a build leaves more than one person should carry, he brings a small crew. If the leftovers are split between rooms in the house and the garage, show him every spot before he starts loading.

On a site with a builder or project manager, tell Louie who opens the door and when the house is clear of other trades. He's open 24/7, so the haul can be set before the cleaners come in. The arrival comes as an hour window. Louie calls his pace a "24 hour turn around," and a same-day haul sometimes works out but is never a promise, so bring it up on the call. Keep the hallways open on the way out and point out any floors that are still curing or covered.

What a new construction cleanout costs

The minimum is $120. Above it, a finished house gets a single figure from Louie, sized by the truck space the leftovers fill, and that figure holds once they're loaded. Builder leftovers are light but bulky. A garage of loose cabinet boxes fills a trailer fast, so breaking the cardboard down flat before he arrives saves room. For scale, his price card puts a quarter load at $200 to $250 and a half load at $400 to $450.

A finished house can trigger two extra charges. Leftovers on a second floor are upstairs, +$25. A carry over 50 feet, like from a back unit to the street, is +$50. Either charge gets named before any boxes come out, never after. Those are the only add-ons he lists. The quote costs nothing. Call or text (562) 781-9101.

Where builder leftovers end up

New builds leave a lot that's still good. A spare interior door, unopened boxes of tile and extra cabinet hardware can all be used by somebody. Louie takes usable pieces to a local donation center first. What can be recycled gets recycled when possible. Real trash goes to the landfill.

Before loading starts, set aside anything the owner wants to keep. Spare tile for future repairs and touch-up paint are the usual ones. Leftover cabinet hardware and a spare door are worth a second look too, since a matching piece is hard to find once the build is done. Louie loads what's in the pile, so a box that should stay in the garage needs to be out of it or pointed out to him.

What stays behind on a new build

Some of what's left at the end of a build isn't Louie's to take. He doesn't haul concrete or dirt, so leftover bags of mix, broken slab pieces and extra fill stay put. Loose grit and sweepings that pile up on a garage floor once the trades leave would need a shovel, and Louie doesn't take shoveled piles.

Hazardous materials are refused. On a new build that usually means half-used paint cans, solvents and other chemicals, fuel, and anything that might hold asbestos. Keep those out of the pile. The builder or the owner has to handle those another way. Before he comes, look over the paint, chemicals and other materials Louie won't load so nothing on site is a surprise.

How the price works

Call or text (562) 781-9101. Louie looks at how much room it takes on the truck and gives you one number for the whole job. The number doesn't change once it's loaded. Jobs start at $120. The only add-ons: upstairs +$25, carry over 50 feet +$50. He tells you before he starts. More on how pricing works.

Questions

Questions about new construction cleanout.

How much does a new construction cleanout cost?
It starts at the $120 minimum. Beyond the minimum, the whole pile of builder leftovers gets one number, sized by the truck space it fills. Leftovers on a second floor add +$25, a carry past 50 feet adds +$50, and Louie says so up front if either applies.
Do I need to move the leftovers to the curb first?
No. Louie carries it out from wherever it sits, from the bedroom closet to the back corner of the garage.
Can Louie come before a final walkthrough?
Yes, if his schedule has room. Louie keeps 24/7 hours and books an hour window. His timing, as he puts it, is a "24 hour turn around," so a haul the same day before a walkthrough can happen but can't be counted on. Call or text (562) 781-9101 with the walkthrough date.
Will he take leftover paint from the painters?
No. Paint counts as a hazardous material, and Louie turns it down along with chemicals, fuel and asbestos. Leave the cans out of the pile.
Can a builder rent the trailer instead?
Yes. Louie rents out the trailer he hauls with for $650, and that covers up to 3 tons of dump weight. Loads over 3 tons cost extra, and that amount isn't set yet. Roofing companies have taken it out before, and the dump trailer rental page has the rest.
Does Louie take scrap lumber and drywall cutoffs?
Yes, as long as they're loose pieces he can carry. A pile that has to be shoveled stays behind.
